Celebrating Fields in Trust Charity Centenary Year
Roseburn Park
Saturday 5th April 2025
KO 3pm

The Co-optimist RFC have accepted an invitation from the Fields in Trust Charity (FIT) to play a match against a Murrayfield Wanderers Select side in Roseburn Park in the shadow of the home of Scottish Rugby, Murrayfield. The match celebrates the Trusts centenary year.
The select side is drawn from Wanderers and former Wanderers players now playing in the higher leagues of Scottish Club Rugby.
Wanderers are not the only Rugby team in Edinburgh based in a park protected – in perpetuity - by Fields In Trust. Namely:-
Portobello RFC at Cavalry Park, Corstorphine RFC at Union Park and Edinburgh Northern RFC at Inverleith Park.
FIT (formerly known as the National Playing Fields Association) is the only UK charity working to secure legal protection for all parks and green spaces. In practice, this means they can never be sold off for development and will be retained as a public park, playing field or recreation ground forever.
